SEASON LAUNCH:

An opportunity to get together to celebrate the start of the netball year is being held on Sunday 4th February@ WNC Clubrooms Taroona Avenue Warrandyte.

TEAM ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Teams will be announced by Friday 2nd February.

This will include the name of the coach and training day & time.

Team Managers will be announced either at this time or in the following week. Team Managers will arrange a scoring roster and assist new families with the scoring system.

TRAINING:

Training sessions are held for all teams except Opens. 17&U and 19&U will train as one squad, with Lucy Wheeler taking the sessions.

Training commences either Wednesday 7th or Thursday 8th Feb, giving two weeks of training prior to the first game.

All training is held at the Warrandyte Netball Courts on Taroona Ave.

Training occurs despite the weather, with indoor activities undertaken if it is to hot, wet or stormy. This can include yoga, pilates, footwork drills, team bonding games, and discussing game strategy, set plays, mindset and mental health.

GAMES:

We play in the Manningham Netball Association (formerly Doncaster Districts Netball Association), on Saturdays on the corner of Foote and Anderson St in Templestowe

INSURANCE:

Your netball registration includes insurance coverage through our affiliation with Netball Victoria. Please see link for further information. In the event of an injury please notify registrar@warrandytenetball.org as soon as possible to enable an Incident Form to be completed to assist any claims.

UNIFORMS:

My name is Kelly Purvis and I am your contact for WNC uniforms. To get ready for the season, please complete your uniform order via our website, under the ‘Online Shop’ or use this link Online Shop – Warrandyte Netball Club.

At the very least everyone will need a playing dress or inclusive uniform to start the season with. There are socks, hoodies, and shorts (for under the dress) available, you can also wear black shorts underneath your dress if you already have a pair.

Sizing charts are available online, although I suggest trying on your order when picking it up to ensure you are comfortable with the size.

It’s important to me that everyone feels as comfortable as possible in their uniform so rest assured you will not have to take the size you ordered, but rather the size that fits.

Uniforms can be delivered at the Autumn Season Launch on February 4th, at the club rooms 3-5pm or at anther time convenient to us both.

🔔 Please ensure notifications are turned on both in the app and your phone so you don’t miss anything important! (I have mine on silent but the red dot appears on the app logo so I know I have something new to see!)

VOLUNTEERS:

As part of the clubs commitment to improve and develop our players skills in sport and life we ask for your assistance to help make this club great. We are 100% run by volunteers and require all families to assist to sustain our club and reach our goals.

This year we are asking for each family to volunteer for at least one event. To assist in this planning, we have developed the below list of events and tasks so you can select to your strengths, comfort and availability. The WNC is a team and all events will be well supported by the club committee and members.

‼️ Run Warrandyte is very soon, and we need 15-20 volunteers for marshalling the course, so we ask that you prioritise consideration of helping at this event ‼️
